ONE CITY.
60K BOOKS.
ONE SOUL AT A TIME.
This December, ISKCON NYC is going all in — 60,000 books for 60 Years of ISKCON
Srila Prabhupada built ISKCON on the back of book distribution. He believed a single book, placed in the right hands, could change the trajectory of a soul — in this life and the next.
New York is where it began. 1966. A small storefront on the Lower East Side. From that room, a movement circled the globe. Now, sixty years later, we return to the city that started it all with the biggest marathon in our history.
Book distribution was never a side project for Srila Prabhupada — it was the heart of his mission. He wrote plainly to his disciples, "This book distribution is the essence of our mission" (Letter to Rupanuga, Bombay, 18 December 1974), and urged them to "distribute my books profusely," calling it "the only way to please me" (Letter to Bala Krsna, Vrindaban, 23 October 1976). Please join us as we attempt to distribute 60,000 of Srila Prabhupada's transcendental literatures in the city where he started it all.

"As Krishna sees that you are working very seriously to bring His other children back to the Spiritual Kingdom, then He will become very pleased and will bestow all blessings upon you. Krishna is never ungrateful for our efforts to serve Him, rest assured."
— Srila Prabhupada, Letter to Prahladananda, Los Angeles, 29 July 1969
